It has been another busy week in Year 2. In addition to our lessons, our Christmas production rehearsals are under way. Most of the children have learned the lines but it is important that they keep rehearsing at home as it is part of their homework. It is a delight to see them improve in confidence and become actors on the stage!
In Literacy, we finished writing our ‘Toy Story’ stories. We watched a clip from the film (Woody and Buzz are left at the petrol station) and thought about how we would finish the story if we were in charge of the film. We focused on using full stops at the end of the sentences. We are all determined to become ‘Full Stop Heroes’ and earn our special certificate and pencil!
In Maths, we discussed 2-D shapes. We covered many topics this week, including right angles, quadrilaterals and sorting shapes into Venn diagrams and Carroll diagrams. We will be visiting these again throughout the year.
Please note that all costumes need to be in school by Friday 4th November.
Have a lovely weekend,
