Happy New Year Nursery!

Welcome back Nursery! Happy new year to you all.

We have had a great start to the term in Nursery, children have settled back in really well and did a fantastic job at telling us all about their holidays during our Speaking and Listening group time on the first day back.

This half term we will be focusing on a book each week and last week was ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’! The children are making great progress with their understanding of the story and joining in with the repeated phrases. This week the story of the week is Owl babies.

On Friday some of the children wrapped up warm and went outside to experience the snow! We enjoyed watching the snow fall and tried to catch snowflakes! We are encouraging children to notice the changes in the weather and the seasons, please talk with them about this when you are at home as well as when you are out and about.

We are in the process of changing our role play area into a Chinese restaurant as we are also learning about Chinese New Year.

Please note, from this term the children will only be having ‘group snack’ on a Thursday and Friday. On a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we will have ‘rolling snack’. This means the snacks and drinks are available in the green room throughout the morning. The children can help themselves when they are hungry or thirsty, we will remind them to access the snack but if you could also remind them that would be much appreciated.

We could do with some more helpers to assist us in Nursery, so please sign up on the rota if you can offer any assistance this term.

Many thanks,
Miss Bowie
