On Friday 16th June the four St Andrew’s house came together for a very competitive sports day.
The morning began with competitive team games that had been devised and run by the Year 5 children. The children threw, bounced, jumped and dribbled their way to points with Ash House finishing the morning with a slim lead over Millstream, Stort and Lea houses.
In the afternoon the children returned to their class groups where they competed against their peers to earn points during the sprints and (the highlight of my day) the relay races. As part of the relay races, Year 6 and 5 bounced their way on space hoppers before passing onto the year 3 and 4 who were waiting patiently in sacks. After the 3 and 4 children had hopped their way to the year 1 and 2’s, the youngest children finished the race with a tennis racket and beanbag balance.
Once all the points had been added together from both the morning and afternoon activities, Mrs Arnold presented the cup to the winning house Ash. Louie Evans received the trophy as house captain for Ash house.
