A warm welcome to all pupils, parents and carers of the Year 5 class!
We have had a fantastic week back to school. Already, we are into the swing of learning. Moving into Year 5 can be a shock as more responsibilities are given to the children but they have all exceeded my expectations and are demonstrating their excellent learning attitudes.
We were lucky enough this week to visit the CORAM learning bus. It was an exciting experience to change learning environments. Year 5 were amazed by the technology upon the bus, including a light up brain, sticky walls and colourful lighting. We learned lots about decision making and the importance of feeling empowered to say no, even to our friends and family. We also covered the importance of emotions and our emotional rights. It sparked some incredible discussions that will be continued in class.
I hope the spellings for this half term have made it home in one piece! These are to start this Thursday. I will be sharing some ideas about how to learn these during the Meet the Teacher presentation which is this Friday (15th September). I have attached the spellings list to this blog so if they are lost, you can still locate them.
I look forward to all that this year will bring!
