This week we have been stretching our growth mindset muscles and tackling some complicated learning! In Maths, we have been exploring negative numbers and trying to understand that there are numbers less than zero. This is especially hard when you’re used to seeing 0 at the end of the number line… Nevertheless, we are getting there.
In Literacy, we have composed biographies based on celebrities who have inspired us. A small selection of these include J K Rowling, David Beckham, Monet and Queen Elizabeth II. We have enjoyed researching these on the internet, planning and, eventually, writing our prose. Next week, we are beginning to write about the most important people of all… ourselves!
Please ensure that homework books are brought to school on Monday so they can be used in lessons. They are particularly vital for our Literacy work next week.
Special shout out to:
- Mitchell for being the KS2 drawing competition winner for his excellent portrait of Queen Elizabeth I!
- George D for winning child of the week for being a determined and focused class member!
Have a lovely weekend,
