Year One – Our first visit to Forest School

We have had another lovely week in Year One, we have all written our own versions of Zog thinking of different things he could learn.

Today we visited Forest school for the first time this Year, we walked all around the school site looking for signs of Autumn, we found lots of different coloured leaves and we loved looking at the morning dew collecting on leaves in the forest, with the sun shining one child said it made the leaf look like it was made of diamonds, If only that was the case!

We will be changing Forest school to a Friday afternoon instead of a Friday morning. From next week, please can your child come to school in their uniform with their forest school clothes in a bag. We will then change before lunch and go straight to the forest in the afternoon. Please can I also request your child comes with wellington boots? The forest school area is beginning to become very muddy and we do not want trainers being covered in mud. In the coming weeks your child will need gloves and warm clothes as it is beginning to get colder.

It was lovely seeing many of you at our meet the Teacher on Tuesday; I look forward to seeing anyone that could not attend at the second session on the curriculum evening in a couple of weeks.
