Some images of our week. We had an amazing day of learning with the Great Fire of London day presented by History off the Page and ably assisted by our wonderful team of parent and staff helpers. Friday ended with a visit from firefighters from Hertford Fire Station who helped us to reenact the Fire by igniting and extinguishing our shoe box models of Pudding Lane houses. The children made observations such as
“You could see how the fire went through one whole house and then went to the next door house and it kept going to the next house.” “The fire left a lot of square, black ash.”
Equally they asked questions about fire procedures of the firefighters who also gave the children advice about fire safety.
We are very grateful to these heroic people who willingly came into our school to help us with our learning and asked for nothing but the chance to talk to the children about being safe.
