Happy New Year from Year 5!

Dear all parents, carers and friends of Year 5,

I would like to begin by saying a Happy New Year to you all. I hope your 2018 is full of happiness, health and wealth. I would also like to say a thank you for all the cards and presents I received. They were very kind of you and greatly appreciated.

This week, we have dived back into our learning. Let it never be said that Year 5 do not like a challenge, as we started this week by learning the short method of multiplication. Although this has taken us a week to get our heads around, we are finally able to tackle these independently. We adopted the mantra: ‘Slow down, calm down. Don’t hurry, don’t worry. Trust the process.’ Next week, we are beginning short method of division.

In Literacy, we are beginning the epic ‘Beowulf’. We are excited by this story of heroism, adventure and bravery and can’t wait to see what happens next week.

Please remember to return your slips regarding our ‘Burger and Ice-cream Fun Day’ on Thursday 18th January ASAP, if this is applicable for your child.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Muncey
