Spring has finally sprung in Reception class

What a gorgeous week we’re having. Thank you so much everyone for remembering hats and water bottles. We are still on the look out for Bobby’s jumper so if anyone finds they have inadvertently picked it up, please could you drop it back to school.

Well we have gone baby crazy. Many thanks to Oscar and Mum for bringing Stanley to school. We learnt so much about how to change a nappy and make up a bottle. As well it was just great fun playing with Stanley. Next week Lela is bringing her baby to bath. If you would like to take part in any of our activities then please do join us on Tuesday or Thursday afternoon from 1:40 pm as we hope to stitch and make some felt smelling soothers to help snuffly babies breath and sleep well.

As part of our exploration of how babies learn we have been revisiting the senses. This week the children created sensory stepping stones, black and white prints to stimulate babies sight and we talked about healthy eating for ourselves and babies. Next week we want to make baby rattles. Please could you collect and bring in any yogurt pots or small containers with lids on so we can make some musical toys for the dolls.

We did loads of math in the garden this week, planting pansies in a pattern and tallying the number of bounces and throw ups we could catch in one minute using the sand timer.

Our special people living the value this week were Raphael and Sarah and Child of the Week went to both Owen for his amazing writing and Joseph for doing such a brilliant job as Values Champion. The whole class get a shout out for their amazing confidence singing The Spring Song at the Easter Service.

Have a fabulous weekend and enjoy the sunshine.
