What? An early morning activity club including breakfast for up to 15 St. Andrew’s children of all ages. Ideas for activities will include: games – both indoors and out; cooking; quieter area for homework and reading; crafts; a sociable ‘family-style’ breakfast and more. (Special diets for medical reasons can be catered for upon request.)
Food? This will include cereals, toast and jam, bagels, crumpets, yoghurt, fruit juice, fresh fruit and milk.
When? Every school day from 7.45am – 8.45am. (Excludes INSET days)
Where? In the Dining Hall and lower playground
Who? The club will be run daily by Mrs. Wendy Randall and Mrs Hoskins. Both are qualified teaching assistants and hold current Child Protection and First Aid certification.
How to apply? Bookings will be taken on a first come/first served basis via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The email should include the following information:
- Child’s name
- Date of birth
- Year group
- Days required each week. Please note that for the first half term, bookings must be for full weeks or for the same selected days each week only e.g. every Wednesday. It is possible that there may be facility for occasional ad hoc bookings in the future, when the club is established.
- Any medical conditions
- Any food allergies or special dietary requirements
- Emergency contact details
- Any additional relevant information e.g. whether your child is/or is expected to be in receipt of Free School Meals.
How much? As the club is being run initially in-house by school staff, the school is not permitted to either make a profit or a loss. The final cost will depend upon the number of children attending regularly each week and is expected to be in the region of £4.50 – £5.00 per session, per child. This allows us to break even with a minimum average attendance of 8 children per day. If the Club is regularly full on a daily basis of 15 children, it is possible that the charge will be reduced. Fees will be payable in advance on a half-termly basis. This is a flat rate. There will be no sibling discounts. If a child misses a session there will be no refunds. Children may attend for part sessions e.g. from 8.00am, for the same price. Cheques need to be made payable to St. Andrew’s C.of E. Primary School. It will also be possible to pay using Wisepay. Parents should not pay until Mrs. Shipp has confirmed their child’s place.
However, please note that this is a trial. It is possible that in January 2015 this club may be launched as a business by Mrs. Munro and Mrs. Randall and if so, it is possible that at this time there will be a moderate increase in price. Parents will be warned in advance and kept fully informed of any proposed changes.
Free School Meals: Parents whose children are in receipt of Free School Meals (or have been told that they are eligible for these) can attend free of charge.
