On Thursday afternoon Year 6 took a trip to Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar to watch the Young Shakespeare Company version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The children had a great time and particularly enjoyed the slap-stick comedy that ran throughout the show.
This week we have also had a great time debating whether the voting age in England should be lowered from 18 to 16. Having watched a debated in Parliament about the subject, Year 6 created their own persuasive arguments before having a final vote today. The results from the ballot box were:
Yes it should be lowered to sixteen – 21
No it should remain eighteen – 10
Next week we begin our work on Macbeth and how to calculate percentages of amounts.
Thank you to all those who attended the Maths evening to learn about fractions, long division and long multiplication. As ever, if you are unsure about something in Year 6, please come and find me!
Have a great weekend, Mr Cooper
