What a great week it’s been in Year 3, we’re now half way through the school year too!
This week in class we have been looking at multiplication facts to help us to work out some of the more difficult sums, like using the 2 and 4’s to help us work out our 8 times tables. We also did the same for the 5 and 10 times tables. I have seen a huge improvement in the children’s turbo tables scores, they are clearly putting in lots of effort with these at home!
Another super effort on our spellings this week too! This was in addition to some lovely writing the children completed on play scripts – we changed part of our class book ‘The Firework Makers Daughter’ into a play script fit for the finest of west end productions!
We also continued with our topic work of natural disasters in which the children are very much engaged!
Half term homework is to complete the questions in the children’s homework books on revising the 10 x tables. I have also put the next set of spellings for Spring 2 into their books.
Have a restful and enjoyable half term,
Mr Chesterman 🙂
A side note: Congratulations to the children in Year 3 for logging the most Fitter Futures workouts in the school last week!!
