I hope everyone is keeping safe and well. We very much look forward to speaking to some of you over zoom tomorrow!
For the remainder of the school year, I would really like to continue to push the phonics play as it’s vital for the children to know Tricky Words. Tricky Word Trucks shows the children the Tricky Words for individual Phases and would be great for them to continue to practice. If you do not have access to Phonics Play the Tricky Words for Phase 3 are; he, she, we, me, be, was, you, they, are, all, my, her.
This week in Phonics we have focused on the sounds ‘air’ and ‘er’. Some words we read and learnt to write have been; fern, her, herd, jerk | hair, lair, stairs, chair, fair and pair. Please continue to practise these at home and perhaps play some obb and bob to distinguish between real and fake words.
For Maths this week we are continuing to recap our 2D shapes and 3D shapes. We have been drawing images using shapes and beginning to use our phonics to label each shape. They have been very good! At home, could the children write labels for any shapes they see whether they be 2D shapes or some of the 3D shapes we have learnt? I will attach some of the work we have completed during school for some inspiration.
Not long left of the school year now! Keep up the amazing work you have been doing!
Miss Phillips 🙂
