Good Morning Reception,
I hope you are all well, and have enjoyed the weekend. I loved seeing all your wonderful information books that you created last week. I can’t wait to see them when we return to school.
Please continue to use Phonics play; watch Mrs Felstead’s videos and complete some activities on Mathletics. These will all continue to develop skills we have learnt in class.
Over the next two weeks I would like you to look at one of my favourite stories ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’. If you have a copy of the book at home that’s fantastic, if not I have linked a YouTube video for you to watch.
Eric Carle the author and illustrator created lots of wonderful books, all the pictures in his books were made using collage materials (mainly tissue paper). This week I would like you to make your own collage pictures. These can either be of pictures from the Hungry Caterpillar story or you could make collage images of the animals you looked at last week.
I would also like you think about what the caterpillar eats each day, you could create a list using the days of the week. By the end of the week it would be lovely if you were able to retell the story on your own to a grown up. Knowing the story really well will help with the work we will be doing next week.
Mrs Felstead and I were talking the other day and were wondering how your beans are growing. I now have some lovely beanstalks growing in my garden. Maybe you could send us some pictures. It would be interesting to know how tall they have got. Maybe you could measure them using things from around the house E.g. Lego bricks or Duplo bricks. Be as creative as you can with your measuring and record in some way how tall your beanstalk has got.
Take care, stay safe
