Preparing for VE day bank holiday

Morning Reception,

Hope you are all well? It is lovely to log in to my emails each morning and see all the wonderful work you are doing.

Please don’t feel pressured to complete work it is OK to complete things when you can and when your children are feeling up to doing it. I want you all to know if work is not done it won’t matter. The team in Early Years are prepared for when we return to take things easy with the children; find out where they are at and prepare them for the next step in their learning journey.

This weekend is special as the bank holiday has been moved so the country can celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE day. So this is a time for you as a family to enjoy your time together. Read stories, go outside and relax in the sun, take a nice long walk together and explore nature, enjoy a film or even bake a Victoria sandwich cake to enjoy together. I would love to see photos of how you celebrate.

I have included a link to a template for bunting, which you could use with your children to decorate your house ready for Friday. Maybe the children can colour it in a red, white and blue repeating pattern.

I have included a video you may want to watch about VE day and how Winston Churchill addressed the nation on this historic day.

Stay safe

Mr P
