I hope you are all well and staying safe. It has been lovely hearing from Mrs Felstead and Miss Phillips about all the wonderful things you have been doing over the past few weeks in school.
For phonics this week you have focused on the sound ‘ur’ (hurt, surf and turn) and ‘ow’ (Owl, now, pow! and town). Have a look at the phonics play activities linked to these sounds and maybe you could have a go at writing some sentences containing words with these sounds.
In school this week you have been focusing on time and thinking about what you do at certain points in the day. Maybe at home you could keep a time diary. You could write the time and draw pictures of your daily routine.
The Bad Tempered Lady bird is a lovely story by Eric Carle which focuses on time. I have included a link to the story for you. Maybe you could have a go at writing your own story inspired by the Bad tempered lady bird. You could also go on a bug hunt in the garden or around the local area to find different creatures. Could you find a way of recording what you find on your adventures?
Blue Peter have set all children a challenge this summer, which promotes all different types of activities. For younger children they can apply for a wall chart and stickers to complete the challenges. I thought this would be lovely thing to do especially now we are allowed out and about a little more. I have included a link for you to find out more information.
I hope to see you all very soon.
