Dear Year 3,
I hope you have been keeping busy and most importantly – happy and healthy!
This term brings a new topic – The Romans! I am providing you with activities you can have go at this week. They are all really interesting and have lots of website links to support you. The activities listed are in the document ‘Romans Week 1’ and the resources for these are also attached. The children can choose 1 activity, or complete more if they would like to.
Literacy – I would like you to have a go at writing a newspaper report on a topic of choice Before this, they will need to pick a piece of news/story, real or fictional, that they find interesting and write a short newspaper report on it. It does not have to be presented like a newspaper – just a few paragraphs. It should also include plenty of adverbs of time, speech, paragraphs, and varied sentence structure.
Maths – I would like you to have a look at multiplying by 10 and 100. This unit is all about scaling up and understanding the relationship between 1, 10 and 100 in relation to other number. There is a powerpoint to support the learning, and some worksheets which are in ascending order of difficulty. Not all of them need to be completed, however this is for the whole week.
Please continue having go at purple mash and mathletics activities set for you, reading to an adult and practising neat handwriting if you can!
I miss you all very much. Have a fab week!
