For Maths this week I would like you to have a look at dividing 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers. We have already learnt how to divide 2-digit numbers, although that will seem like a lifetime ago now. If you need to go over that again, that is absolutely fine! My set of instructions and questions are done in a way to help you refresh your memory. Remember – if you are super quick at remembering your times table facts, that would really help you.
Parents – I can imagine that you might want to teach children long division or the bus stop method, but please don’t until they can complete this week’s set of questions without it. The bus stop method will come, but not just yet! Below I have attached some instructions to go through, step by step, to support the mathematical understanding. Please feel free to send an email if you have any questions about it.
If you would like a challenge, here are some optional problem solving activities about division.
For English work this week, there are some activities about Fantastic Mr Fox. Additionally, it would be great if you could practise some neat handwriting and learn your Year 3 and 4 spellings.
I would like to do a little research about Roman Gladiators – the aim is that you use a range of different websites and sources (books if you have them) to find out about some Roman artefacts. There is a sheet in the document below to help you gather your ideas. To save ink and paper, only print out this sheet, as the rest are just photos.
