17.6.20 Happy Wednesday!

Morning everyone 🙂 Yesterday, I enjoyed deciphering Nathan’s joke written in hieroglyphics and Hannah’s limerick inspired me to try a bit of limerick writing of my own. Take a look on the Purple Mash blog!

Don’t forget about the Oxford Owl site https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/  if you’re wanting something different to read – there are a selection of e-books. Also there are spelling activities you can try.

Ideas for the day:

Maths – Draw line graphs

English – Today you will be comparing two different versions of the story of Simbad (Day 3). There quite a few different activities today, so you might not be able to do all of them – that’s fine!

Other possible activities for the week:

PE – The current situation has meant that all the usual school sports activities and events have been cancelled. However, Hertfordshire are running some ‘Virtual School Games’ for you to get involved in!

The first event is the ‘Virtual Pentathlon’. I have added a link for the instructions and results sheet. It would be great if we could get involved. Email me your results (year5@standrews323.herts.sch.uk) to me by Friday 19th so they can be sent off.

History – Mrs Thomas has added a blog post with some questions/research that you could do about Victorian Schools.

Science – Explore coding by looking at the latest Science magazine (link on Purple Mash blog)

Enjoy!
