15.6.20 Morning Year 5!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and had a chance to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. As always, I have suggestions for what learning you might like to do today. If there is something different that you’d like to learn about, that’s fine too!

Do keep your times table learning going too. Does anyone have any good websites/apps for practising multiplication facts? Comment on the Purple Mash blog if you do!

Ideas for the day:

Maths – Multi-step addition and subtraction problems

English – Today you will be looking at the story of Sinbad the Sailor and recapping use of conjunctions in sentences. The work for the week is in the link below. Look at day 1 for today’s lesson.

Other activities for the week:

PE – The current situation has meant that all the usual school sports activities and events have been cancelled. However, Hertfordshire are running some ‘Virtual School Games’ for you to get involved in! Have a look at the introduction below.

The first event is the ‘Virtual Pentathlon’. I have added a link for the instructions and results sheet. It would be great if we could get involved. Email me your results (year5@standrews323.herts.sch.uk) to me by Friday 19th so they can be sent off.

History – Mrs Thomas has added a blog post with some questions/research that you could do about Victorian Schools.

Enjoy!
